This is Veritas University where I am studying.
Notice the red car with a yellow triangle. Those are what the taxis look like here. We take them to any place that is too far to walk or even the close places at night and my first time going downtown during the day.
It was hard being away from the US for the 4th, but all the students here made sure to wish each other a happy 4th. That night I went dancing with my 2 roommates and my host mom, Evelyn. It was a lot of fun. I am feeling better and better about my conversational Spanish but am still amazed that Evelyn understands me.
These are some of my new friends and I in the living room at my homestay.
Shayla, Liz, Myself, and Katie
(Shayla and Katie are my roommates and Liz doesn't have any. So, we have adopted her.)
On Tuesday, I had my first day of class. It went well and afterward I went to the National Museum of Costa Rica. There were beautiful artifacts and lots of things to look at.
After class on Wednesday, I went bungee jumping. The jump distance was 265 ft. We jumped from a bridge over a river in a forested area.
I was very nervous and I almost didn't jump, but it was really fun and I am very glad I went. I hope to have a video of my jump later this week. I will put that in my next post. I will also be able to tell you all about our upcoming weekend trip to La Playa Tamarindo (Tamarindo Beach.)

You are amazing. And a little bit crazy. :)
ReplyDeleteDad says "no more of that!" I am glad you are still alive. You're NUTS. :)

OMG! You did it! If I had known that I would have pumped you for information today. How was it? I'm too scared. I think. lol So you don't have to dive?
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome. I was almost too scared to jump. You jump out and spread your arms, but don't dive or just fall because it's not as good I guess. It was easy.
